Job summary

Powercor is inviting applications for a Technical Drafting Officer to join the Design and Spatial team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role can be based at any Powercor depot in Melbourne or Regional Victoria.

You will contribute to substations, distribution networks, sub-transmission systems and fibre design, performing essential 2D and 3D drafting and GIS updates to keep the network operating efficiently.

Qualifications

• Certificate or tertiary qualification in Engineering/Building Drafting, GIS/Mapping, or equivalent.
• Strong experience with Autodesk products and related drawing/document management systems.
• Fundamental knowledge of electricity distribution network assets.
• Attention to detail and ability to work within technical and safety guidelines.
• A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver drafting services for new and existing designs using Autodesk and GIS.
• Prepare design plans and maintain system records per standards.
• Engage in innovative practices related to products, services, processes.
• Maintain and update GIS within required timeframes.
• Provide technical and design support for overhead, underground, and substation projects.
• Undertake minor survey activities, ensuring OH&S compliance.
• Manage project documents in the document management system.
• Support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
