Job summary

Only Sponsorships seeks qualified personnel to support maintenance, scheduling and project controls at a lead smelter facility. The role covers preventive and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant and heavy mining equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

You will develop and maintain detailed construction programs, integrate with cost control, and provide technical guidance on mechanical systems. FIFO roster applies with opportunities to stay close to home in QLD or similar regions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years in a water infrastructure, mining or bulk handling role.
• Practical field knowledge of fixed water infrastructure.
• Trade qualification or equivalent for water management or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of planning and scheduling experience; Primavera P6 beneficial.
• Strong safety-first mindset with adherence to safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Undertake minor maintenance and repairs around the lead smelter facility.
• Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs on fixed plant and heavy mining equipment.
• Develop, maintain and update detailed construction programs and master schedules.
• Integrate scheduling with reporting, cost control and project controls functions.
• Review daily maintenance expenditures and report cost leakage.
• Operate heavy mining equipment and plant safely to maximise productivity.
• Perform routine operational checks, inspections and maintenance across plant.
• Provide technical guidance on welding, pipework, pumps, tanks, pressure equipment and related asset assessments.
• Responsible for all mechanical systems on the drilling rig.
• Operate production equipment to optimise efficiency and meet production nominations.
• Lead the design and governance of Indigenous employment and DEI initiatives.
