Job summary

Only Sponsorships is seeking a hands-on maintenance and scheduling professional to support a lead smelter facility and heavy mining operations in Australia. You will manage preventive maintenance, repairs, and master schedules while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Key duties include leading Indigenous employment and DEI governance, integrating project controls, and optimizing production with experienced use of Primavera P6. This role offers valuable field work and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent practical experience in water management or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 2–5 years in water infrastructure, mining or bulk handling roles.
• Experience with Primavera P6 is beneficial.
• Strong safety mindset; adhere to safety standards and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Undertake minor maintenance and repairs around the lead smelter facility.
• Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs on fixed plant and heavy mining equipment.
• Develop and update detailed construction programs and master schedules.
• Integrate scheduling with reporting, cost control and project controls functions.
• Review daily maintenance expenditures and report cost leakage.
• Operate heavy mining equipment and plant safely to maximise productivity.
• Conduct routine operational checks and inspections across plant.
• Provide technical guidance on welding, pipework, pumps, tanks, and pressure equipment.
• Responsible for all mechanical systems on the drilling rig.
• Operate production equipment to optimise efficiency and meet nominations.
• Lead Indigenous employment and DEI initiatives governance.

• Develop, maintain and update detailed construction programs and master schedules.
• Integrate scheduling with reporting, cost control and broader project controls functions.
• Review daily maintenance expenditures, identify cost leakage and report findings.
• Operate heavy mining equipment and plant safely to maximise productivity.
• Perform routine operational checks, inspections and maintenance across plant.
• Provide technical guidance and consultation on welding, pipework, pumps, tanks, pressure equipment and related asset assessments.
• Responsible for all mechanical systems on the drilling rig.
• Operate production equipment to optimise efficiency and meet production nominations.
• Lead the design and governance of Indigenous employment and DEI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a similar water infrastructure, mining or bulk handling role.
• High level of practical, field‑based knowledge of fixed water infrastructure.
• Trade qualification or equivalent practical experience relevant to water management or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of planning and scheduling experience; experience with Primavera P6 beneficial.
• Strong safety‑first mindset with experience adhering to safety standards and operational procedures.
