Job summary

Autism Queensland's Brightwater campus seeks a dedicated teacher to join from Term 1, 2027, in a permanent full-time prep class. You will work with a small cohort in Brightwater, fostering connections with autistic students through play-based, inclusive learning.

You'll plan, teach and assess within a flexible model that emphasizes holistic, strengths-based approaches and collaboration with an inter-disciplinary team of teachers, aides and allied health professionals.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Education and/or Special Education.
• Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
• Experience working with school-aged autistic children.
• Understanding of inclusive education practices and diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, teaching and assessment in an alternative, flexible model of learning for autistic students.
• Teach prep class from T1, 2027.
• Collaborate with therapists, behaviour specialists, and wellbeing professionals across campuses.
• Embrace a holistic, strengths-based, and neuroaffirming approach to empower each student.
