Job summary

Sharp & Carter requires a diligent Payroll Manager to join the Lower North Shore team in Sydney. This role supports a dynamic payroll function, ensuring accurate processing for facilities and corporate staff and adherence to all relevant awards and EBAs.

The successful candidate will lead payroll projects, manage UAT testing, and ensure end-to-end Australian payroll compliance while collaborating with HR and Finance teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume payroll environment.
• Thorough understanding of end-to-end payroll processes.
• Knowledge of Australian awards and EBAs.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Process fortnightly time sheets and reconcile reports.
• Handle staff movements including new starters and departures.
• Process bonuses and salary sacrifice requests and ensure payments are accurate.
• Approve all leave types per company policies and processes.
• Prepare manual payments when required.
• Respond to queries via face-to-face, telephone or email.
• Apply payroll knowledge and company policies to provide quality responses.
• Assist Finance with queries and reports.
• Apply knowledge of awards and EBAs to end-to-end payroll processes.
• Act as Payroll SME for Australia payroll project.
• Lead payroll workstream activities from testing through go-live and stabilization.
