Job summary

Fuse Energy, an Australian energy startup, seeks a senior project acquisition lead to source and execute Ready-to-Build solar and BESS opportunities across Australia. You will perform rigorous grid, planning and commercial due diligence, moving deals from initial conversation to close.

You will leverage a strong network of developers, landowners and industry stakeholders, driving timely decisions in a fast-paced, early-stage environment and delivering scalable, construction-ready projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in utility-scale solar, BESS or renewable energy development, acquisitions or M&A.
• Track record of originating, assessing or closing renewable energy project transactions.
• Strong understanding of Australian grid connection processes, including AEMO, DNSPs and state approvals.
• Solid technical and commercial understanding of solar PV and battery storage projects.
• Exceptionally driven and high agency, with a history of making things happen without direction.
• Comfortable operating at pace in an ambiguous, early-stage environment.
• Strong network across Australian developers, landowners and industry stakeholders is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Source and originate Ready-to-Build solar and BESS projects through developers, landowners and industry networks
• Lead technical, grid, planning and commercial due diligence on acquisition opportunities
• Drive transactions end to end, from first conversation through negotiation and close
• Assess project risks across grid connection, permitting, land and construction readiness
• Lead selective greenfield solar and BESS projects from site identification through Ready-to-Build
• Work with our technical team to develop grid connection strategies with AEMO, DNSPs and TNSPs
• Build strong relationships with developers, advisors, landowners and stakeholders across the Australian market
• Ensure acquired and developed projects are deliverable, scalable and ready for construction
