RSM Australia in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to lead audit engagements within our Brisbane Audit & Assurance practice. You will manage complex assignments, mentor junior staff, and deliver high-quality audit outputs for a diverse client base.

Collaborating with Senior Managers and Partners, you will drive risk management and help grow key client relationships across government, education, manufacturing, and health sectors.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of external audit experience, including team management.
• CA qualified (or equivalent).
• In-depth knowledge of the Corporations Act, Australian Accounting Standards, Australian Auditing Standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Exceptional communication and people skills.
• Demonstrated experience leading or supporting audit engagements, including managing workflows, timelines and team performance.
• Ability to work autonomously while also collaborating with the broader engagement and leadership team.
• High attention to detail and commitment to audit quality and consistency.
• Client-focused, with a genuine desire to add value through the delivery of responsive, high-quality service.
• Passionate about contributing to a great team culture, mentoring junior staff and making a meaningful contribution to both clients and the wider firm.

Responsabilités

• Lead the identification, assessment and resolution of complex technical accounting and auditing matters, exercising sound professional judgement and escalating where appropriate.
• Reviews of financial statements and related disclosures to ensure compliance with Accounting Standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of client-facing audit outputs, including reports, presentations, and professional communications to management and those charged with governance.
• Manage multiple audit engagements concurrently, coordinating engagement teams, timelines and resources to ensure delivery of quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
• Mentor, train and support audit team members, fostering capability development while ensuring compliance with RSM methodology, quality standards and firm policies.
• Develop business development capability in preparation for progression to Manager, including supporting client relationship management, contributing to proposals, and identifying opportunities to expand or deepen client engagements in collaboration with Partners, Directors and Managers.
