Job summary

Barwon Health is seeking an Allied Health Assistant Grade 2 to join the Audiology service in Barwon. The role involves screening, maintaining hearing devices and coordinating clinic activities under Audiologists.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, support patient-centred care, and participate in ongoing learning. This is a permanent part-time appointment with salary packaging and pro-rata annual leave.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or completion of at least two years of an undergraduate degree in a relevant allied health discipline.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate with colleagues and health service providers.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, using information technology systems to deliver inclusive and culturally safe care.
• Commitment to ongoing learning, reflective practice and Barwon Health values, with a current and valid Victorian Motor Vehicle Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake hearing and communication screening for inpatients, children and adults in outpatient clinics and community settings under the supervision of Audiologists.
• Provide hearing aid maintenance, fit loan assistive listening devices, maintain loan records and educate patients and staff on the safe use of amplification equipment.
• Support Audiology service delivery through referral triage, administrative assistance, clinic coordination, equipment maintenance and accurate clinical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver culturally safe, evidence-based care, promote hearing health education, and contribute to service improvement, risk management and ongoing professional development.
