Job summary

Randstad is seeking an experienced Insolvency/Assurance Manager to lead our Assurance and Recoveries team in Wollongong. You will drive portfolio assurance, asset recovery and loss provisioning, reporting directly to the COO.

You will guide a technical team, shape workflows, and present risk-informed recommendations to leadership, while partnering with Finance, Credit and Sales to close control gaps and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in commercial lending, asset finance or recoveries.
• Proven leadership of technical or operational teams.
• Strong knowledge of secured lending, asset recovery, PPSA/PPSR and enforcement processes.
• Expertise in financial analysis and loss provisioning methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Assurance Team with clear accountability and workflow priorities.
• Oversee portfolio exceptions, high risk accounts, arrears and audits, ensuring action plans.
• Manage workout, repossessions, valuations, asset preservation and enforcement communications.
• Oversee loss provisions and align with Finance; present provisions to executives.

Job description

This is a high impact opportunity for an experienced Insolvency/Assurance Manager to lead our clients Assurance and Recoveries team in Wollongong.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for leading the portfolio assurance, customer surveillance, distressed account management, asset recovery, and loss provisioning functions. You will oversee an ambitious, technical team, driving operating discipline, identifying emerging customer and asset risks early, and establishing commercially sound resolution strategies. Backed by an executive team that values proactive risk management and continuous improvement, you will have the autonomy to shape workflows, elevate team capabilities, and deliver decision quality recommendations directly to leadership.

Your Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop the Assurance Team, setting clear accountability's, service standards, and workflow priorities

Oversee portfolio exceptions, high risk accounts, on hold customers, arrears, GPS and insurance exceptions, and audit actions

Manage pre workout and formal workout cases, repossessions, valuations, asset preservation, and enforcement correspondence

Oversee and challenge loss provision calculations, ensure alignment with Finance, and submit clear provision recommendations to executive leadership

Own and present the complete Assurance reporting suite to leadership and governance forums, providing concise risk commentary

Identify root causes of recurring exceptions and partner with Operations, Finance, Credit, and Sales to close control gaps

About You

Significant experience in commercial lending, asset finance, recoveries, restructuring, portfolio assurance, or credit risk

Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and managing a technical or operational team

Strong working knowledge of secured lending, asset recovery processes, PPSA, PPSR, and commercial enforcement

Proven expertise in financial analysis and loss provisioning methodologies

Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and written communication skills

Experience in floorplan, inventory, or bailment finance and relevant tertiary qualifications are highly desirable
