Associate or Senior Associate Management Consultant – Mining and Metals

Worley Consulting is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate Management Consultant – Mining and Metals to join our growing Advisory business across APAC.

This is an exciting opportunity for a consulting professional with 8-15 years of experience who is passionate about helping mining and resource sector customers solve their most complex strategic challenges. Working closely with senior customer stakeholders, you will advise on growth strategies, investment decisions, major capital projects, portfolio optimisation, market positioning, and business transformation initiatives across the mining and metals value chain.

Unlike traditional strategy consulting roles, this position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of strategy and delivery. Leveraging Worley’s global technical, project delivery, and industry expertise, you’ll help customers shape major investment decisions and then support the successful execution of those strategies through some of the world’s largest and most complex projects.

We’re looking for a commercially minded seller-doer who enjoys building trusted customer relationships, identifying opportunities, winning work, and delivering high-quality consulting outcomes. You’ll work across multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with specialists from around the world to help customers navigate uncertainty and create long-term value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver strategic, commercial, and operational advisory engagements for mining, metals, and critical minerals customers.
  • Partner closely with customer leadership teams to define growth strategies, evaluate investment opportunities, and solve complex business challenges.
  • Support customers across the full project lifecycle, from strategic planning and investment decisions through to project development and delivery.
  • Develop business cases, market assessments, portfolio strategies, investment evaluations, due diligence studies, and development roadmaps.
  • Lead analytical workstreams and synthesise complex technical, commercial, and market information into clear, executive-level recommendations.
  • Facilitate workshops, strategy sessions, and stakeholder engagements with senior executives, investors, government representatives, and project teams.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships, acting as a strategic advisor across multiple engagements and opportunities.
  • Contribute to account management and business development activities, helping identify, pursue, and win new consulting opportunities.
  • Develop proposals, presentations, and thought leadership that strengthen Worley Consulting’s market presence and customer relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with Worley’s global consulting, engineering, and project delivery teams to bring integrated solutions to customers.
  • Mentor and support junior consultants while contributing to the growth of our Advisory capability across APAC.
  • Help shape and enhance consulting methodologies, tools, and intellectual property within the Mining Advisory practice.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mining, Metallurgy, Economics, Commerce, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 8-15 years of professional experience within management consulting, strategy consulting, mining advisory, engineering consulting, corporate strategy, or project advisory environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting mining and resource sector customers on strategic, commercial, or investment-related decisions.
  • Strong understanding of the mining industry, including mining operations, processing, metals, critical minerals, and broader resource value chains.
  • Experience working on large-scale, complex projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
  • Strong consulting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguity and develop practical, commercially focused recommendations.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders through clear communication, facilitation, and relationship management.
  • Experience developing business cases, growth strategies, market assessments, investment analyses, operating model improvements, or major project studies.
  • Demonstrated business development capability and a seller-doer mindset, with experience supporting proposals, account growth, and opportunity development.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with practical implementation considerations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of executive presentations and board-level materials.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with exposure to digital, analytics, and AI-enabled tools considered advantageous.
