Job summary

Building Talent Recruitment Pty is recruiting for an Associate/Principal level structural engineer in Sydney. You will lead the design and delivery of high-rise building projects, mentor junior engineers and coordinate with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes.

You will manage site inspections, contribute to problem solving on complex structures and foster strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

The Role

You will immediately be involved in a range of high profile and large scale high-rise building projects and so wouldn't need to bring a portfolio of work with you. However, having clients and contacts will only add to your offering and therefore reward structure.

You will take ownership of structural design and project delivery across a range of complex building projects. You will play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with project stakeholders and contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality engineering outcomes.

The Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and delivery of building structures projects from concept through to completion
• Prepare and review structural calculations, technical documentation and design solutions
• Coordinate with architects, builders and multidisciplinary project teams
• Mentor and support junior engineers across project delivery
• Undertake site inspections and provide technical input during construction
• Manage project deliverables to ensure quality, programme and client expectations are achieved
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders

The Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Operating at an Associate / Principal level or ready to take the step-up within an engineering consultancy
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and relevant building codes
• Experience designing reinforced concrete and structural steel building structures
• Proficiency using SpaceGass, RAPT, RAM, Microstran or similar structural analysis software
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
