Job summary

Showtime Consulting is seeking an Associate Security Consultant to join our team delivering ultra-secure cloud and cross-domain security solutions in Australia.

You will work with enterprise clients to design, implement and optimise email security services using Mimecast, Microsoft 365, and related technologies, ensuring robust protection for critical communications.

This hands-on role offers exposure to defence-grade projects and a path to grow within a trusted security-focused consultancy.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Email Security Engineer in large enterprise environments.
• Hands-on Mimecast administration and email security engineering.
• Experience managing outbound email security and enterprise mail flow troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of SPF, DKIM, DMARC, SMTP, DNS, and email authentication technologies.
• Strong documentation, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate Mimecast outbound email security solutions.
• Review and optimise mail routing, security controls, policies, and authentication mechanisms.
• Identify and remediate gaps across malware protection, data loss prevention, impersonation protection, and URL security controls.
• Troubleshoot mail flow issues across Mimecast, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and third-party platforms.
• Lead activities associated with the decommissioning of legacy email security technologies, including Trend Micro.
• Coordinate testing, cutover planning, rollback readiness, and post-change validation activities.
• Develop technical documentation, operational runbooks, support procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Monitor solution performance and recommend ongoing improvements and tuning opportunities.
• Work closely with technical stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and operational readiness.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Email Security Engineer to support the delivery and operational uplift of enterprise email security capabilities.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on improving and securing enterprise email services through the implementation of Mimecast, optimisation of Microsoft 365 mail flow, and the safe decommissioning of legacy email security platforms. You'll play a critical role in protecting business communications, strengthening email security controls, and ensuring reliable mail delivery across complex enterprise environments.

Working closely with security, infrastructure, messaging, and operations teams, you'll design and implement technical solutions, troubleshoot issues, support testing and cutovers, and transition stable services into business-as-usual operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate Mimecast outbound email security solutions.

What You'll Need

• Demonstrated experience as an Email Security Engineer within large enterprise environments.


• Strong hands-on experience with Mimecast administration and email security engineering.


• Experience managing outbound email security and enterprise mail flow troubleshooting.


• Practical experience implementing and validating email journaling solutions.


• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, transport rules, connectors, and message tracing.


• Experience managing email security policies, compliance requirements, and security exceptions.


• Strong understanding of SPF, DKIM, DMARC, SMTP, DNS, and email authentication technologies.


• Experience troubleshooting complex email delivery and routing issues.


• Excellent documentation, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience migrating or decommissioning legacy email security platforms.


• Previous exposure to Trend Micro Email Security solutions.


• Knowledge of security governance, risk, and compliance requirements.


• Experience working within telecommunications, enterprise, or highly regulated environments.
