Optus in Belrose, Sydney, is seeking an Associate Satellite Controller to join a small operations team. You will be responsible for on-orbit command, real-time telemetry, tracking, and control of spacecraft, working onsite on a 24/7 roster.
The role requires Australian citizenship to obtain security clearance and a tertiary engineering qualification. You will pursue Optus Satellite Controller Certification over ~2 years and engage in ongoing training for TTC systems and payload operations.

Optus owns and operates a fleet of geostationary satellites for the provision of Satellite Services to customers spanning the corporate, consumer, and government sectors. The Satellite Operations group is responsible for managing and operating the Optus and NBN Co. Satellite Fleets, including all space and ground-based infrastructure.
Based onsite in Belrose, Sydney. The Satellite Control team is responsible for on-orbit operations of all satellites under Optus' control, managing, operating, and maintaining all ground-based infrastructure (TTC Systems), and providing specialist operations and engineering expertise in the delivery of Telemetry, Tracking and Command projects, and Professional Satellite Services to external customers.
Please note: The incumbent must be an Australian Citizen and either hold or be able to obtain an Australian Department of Defence (AGSVA) Security Clearance.
