Northam Primary School, a Department of Education, Western Australia site, seeks an Associate Principal to lead Years 3–6 alongside the Leadership Team. You will drive mathematics curriculum development, lead PLCs, and guide teachers in evidence‑based strategies for improved outcomes.
The role includes line management, strategic staffing, and strengthening culturally responsive practice across the school community.
This is a 24 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027 with possible extension and/or permanency.
At Northam Primary School (PS), we cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and currently have just over 300 students. Our students come from the local town and from the outlying farms and rural properties.

Our staff, comprising of newly graduated teachers through to teachers with many years of experience and dedicated non-teaching staff, work together to develop individual potential through excellence in education. The successful applicant should have the skills and experience to lead and support the 3-6 Phase of Learning Team. At Northam PS, this role involves promoting evidence‑based pedagogy, explicit teaching, and differentiated teaching and learning programs. The Associate Principal’s role also includes line management, leadership responsibilities for Years 3‑6, and strategic planning to best utilise human resources to support the diverse needs of the student cohort.
In implementing whole‑school approaches, the Associate Principal will leverage their expertise in Positive Behaviour Support, successfully fostering positive, restorative outcomes for students with challenging behaviours.
