Job summary

WSP in Brisbane seeks an Associate or Principal Structural Engineer to lead structural design for water infrastructure within the Water Utilities team. You’ll manage projects from concept through detailed design and contribute to multidisciplinary water projects across Queensland.

You will provide input for proposals, support business development, and drive Digital Engineering and BIM coordination while upholding safety, quality and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience, with 5+ years in the water sector.
• RPV/RPEQ registration; Chartered status.
• Strong background in reinforced concrete, structural steel and water-retaining structures aligned to Australian Standards.
• Confident managing projects from concept through detailed design.
• Excellent communicator with strong client engagement and technical reporting skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental responsibility and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver structural design for water-retaining structures, pump stations, sewer networks, pipelines, and associated assets
• Provide technical input into proposals and support business development activities
• Drive integration of Digital Engineering and BIM-based coordination
• Undertake condition assessments, design reviews, and verifications
• Apply Safety-in-Design principles and ensure compliance with OHS&E and quality standards
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building team capability
