Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Civil Designer to join the Water Utilities team in Brisbane, with hybrid working and site involvement as required. You will deliver robust 2D/3D civil designs, coordinate across engineers and drafting teams, and support projects from feasibility through to detailed CAD delivery, contributing to water infrastructure programs across the region.

Applicants should have a Diploma in Engineering and 6+ years in civil design, with AutoCAD and Civil 3D as essential tools,

Qualifications

• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
• 6+ years’ experience in civil design and drafting, ideally within water infrastructure or utilities.
• Strong capability in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (essential).
• Experience in water, mining, or industrial infrastructure projects (highly regarded).
• Exposure to point cloud survey data and EDMS systems (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Delivering high-quality 2D and 3D civil designs in line with technical, commercial, and client standards.
• Coordinating design and documentation with engineers, designers, and drafting teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Supporting projects from feasibility and concept design through to detailed CAD delivery.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, representing WSP professionally at all times.
• Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of CAD standards, workflows, and best practice.

What You’ll Do

• You’ll play a key role in delivering technically robust and constructible designs across a range of water infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting projects from feasibility and concept design through to detailed CAD delivery

About You

You’re a technically strong designer who enjoys problem‑solving, collaboration, and seeing your designs come to life. You’ll bring:

• A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
• 6+ years’ experience in civil design and drafting, ideally within water infrastructure or utilities
• Strong capability in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (essential)
• Experience in water, mining, or industrial infrastructure projects (highly regarded)
• Exposure to point cloud survey data and EDMS systems (advantageous)
