Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service is seeking an experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager for Rockhampton Hospital's Intensive Care Unit. The role combines advanced clinical leadership with operational oversight to ensure safe, effective day-to-day ICU operations.

You'll work with the Nurse Unit Manager on staffing, skill mix, workforce development and patient flow while contributing to clinical governance and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• RN with AHPRA registration mandatory.
• Postgraduate ICU nursing qualifications are highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, staffing, and governance capabilities are essential.

Rockhampton Hospital's Intensive Care Unit is the only ICU within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, providing complex multisystem intensive care for patients from across the region. Our contemporary unit operates as a Level 5 Adult and Level 4 Paediatric ICU, with eight operational beds and capacity to flex to ten depending on staffing. The team provides advanced life support including ventilation, renal replacement therapy and invasive cardiovascular monitoring.

About the role

Take the next step in your critical care leadership career as Associate Nurse Unit Manager within Rockhampton Hospital's Intensive Care Unit.

Working in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager, you'll combine advanced clinical practice with operational leadership, supporting the safe and effective day-to-day running of the ICU. You'll play an important role in staffing and skill mix, workforce development, patient flow, clinical governance and quality improvement, while providing leadership in the NUM's absence when required.

This is an opportunity to influence how the unit operates, support and develop your colleagues, and contribute to a positive, accountable and high-performing ICU team.

About you

You'll be an experienced Registered Nurse with strong critical care capability and the confidence to step into a senior clinical and operational leadership role.

You'll bring advanced clinical judgement, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment. Just as importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys developing others, building an engaged team culture and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA is mandatory. A postgraduate qualification in Intensive Care Nursing is highly desirable, with postgraduate qualifications in leadership and/or management also highly regarded.

What we offer

Total remuneration value of up to $149,968 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $64.92 - $66.29 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
• 17.5% leave loading
