Job summary

We are growing our Building Services team and looking for an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to join us in Brisbane, with a focus on Health sector projects. What is your role?

You’ll lead the mechanical design and delivery of projects across Health sector, taking full end-to-end ownership from concept through to construction. Working closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary consultants, you’ll manage project programs, coordinate across disciplines and be the primary technical point of contact for the projects you lead.

You’ll support senior engineers and Directors on more complex programmes while also mentoring junior engineers within the Brisbane team. Health facilities have their own stringent mechanical requirements around ventilation, infection control and thermal comfort. You’ll bring the expertise to navigate them.

About You

• You are a Senior Mechanical Engineer who is ready for more. You have the technical foundation and project experience to lead independently, and you are looking for an environment that matches your ambition with an appropriate title and the scope to grow into it. You bring sector knowledge in Health, and you are motivated by technically demanding work where the standard of mechanical design really matters.
• You have solid experience in mechanical building services design in a consulting environment, with demonstrated exposure to Health projects.
• You have strong technical knowledge across HVAC, cooling systems, ventilation and mechanical plant, and you understand the specific demands these sectors place on mechanical design, including precision cooling for infection control ventilation for health facilities.
• You are confident leading projects end-to-end, managing design programs and being the primary point of contact for clients and consultants.
• You have a sound understanding of Australian Standards, NCC requirements and the specific regulatory frameworks that apply to Health facility design in Queensland.
• You are beginning to mentor junior engineers and take that responsibility seriously.
• You hold a relevant tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering and are working towards or hold professional registration in Queensland.
