Job summary

Clyde & Co in Sydney is seeking a senior lawyer to handle Casualty and General Insurance matters, working on international and local insurance claims for corporate clients. You will gain exposure to complex insurance issues and collaborate with the firm’s global network.

You will build strong client relationships, lead teams where appropriate, and maintain high standards of drafting, time management and teamwork in a dynamic, cross-border environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in private practice and litigation is essential.
• Strong background in general insurance and claims handling.
• Experience with civil claims related to abuse may be relevant.
• Proven track record of high-quality drafting and academics.
• Self-driven with excellent communication and time-management.

Responsibilities

• Handle matters in Casualty and General Insurance practice.
• Work on insurance claims for international and local insurers and corporates.

Requirements

• Experience working in private practice
• Essential experience in litigation, public/product liability and/or general insurance/coverage claims
• Experience in civil claims related to abuse, including historic or institutional abuse-related matters may be relevant
• Strong, consistent performance record throughout career in the relevant areas of law
• Solid general insurance background gained from a top tier private practice environment in Australia or overseas
• Precise, clear drafting skills
• Strong academics
• Self-driven, 'can do' approach
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities and meet deliverables to a very high standard
• Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, and ability to work independently
