Job summary

Infrastructure NSW is seeking an Associate Director, Financial Planning and Analysis to lead the FP&A function, drive budgeting, forecasting and reporting, and deliver strategic financial insights for senior leadership.

You will develop long-term financial models, partner with division leaders on budgets, and ensure robust cash flow forecasting to support funding decisions for major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Finance with CPA/CA or equivalent postgraduate credential.
• Strong commercial accounting experience in budgeting and forecasting for large projects.
• Proven track record in infrastructure construction, property development and mixed-use projects.

This role is a Clerk Grade11/12, with a base salary for this role starting at$154,231 - $178,369 plus superannuation,commensuratewith experience.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Director, Financial Planning and Analysis to lead the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function. In this role, you will drive best-practice financial planning, reporting, analysis, and forecasting, ensuring senior leaders are provided with timely, accurate, and insightful information to support informed decision-making. You will be responsible for continuously improving financial processes, systems, and tools, while delivering strategic advice that enables the organisation to achieve its objectives and long-term priorities.

Some of the key responsibilities for the role include:

• Lead the agency’s annual financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring, and reporting, ensuring organisational objectives are achieved and financial risks are identified and mitigated.
• Develop and implement long-term strategic financial models to evaluate options, inform decision-making, and support future planning.
• Partner closely with division leaders to develop budgets and forecasts, providing high-level financial advice, analysis, and insights aligned with business and organisational priorities.
• Oversee the delivery of timely and accurate financial reports to key stakeholders, ensuring quality analysis of financial information to support senior leadership decision-making.
• Provide accurate cash flow forecasting and reporting to maintain appropriate funding levels and support effective financial management.

About You

You will bring tertiary qualifications in Finance and a CPA, CA, or equivalent postgraduate qualification, supported by strong commercial accounting experience in budgeting and forecasting. You will have a proven track record in large-scale infrastructure construction, property development, and mixed-use projects, with demonstrated expertise in financial modelling, analysis, and the management of complex development and construction agreements. You will also have experience working with multiple advisors across diverse specialist disciplines to support successful project outcomes.
