Job summary

Foundry Talent Partners client seeks an experienced leveraged finance professional in Sydney to own deals from origination through close, including senior secured and unitranche financings for mid-market corporates.

Reporting to the MD, you will originate, structure and execute transactions, lead due diligence and modelling, present to the investment committee and mentor junior members. A strong network across sponsors and advisers in Australia is essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in leveraged finance, private credit, acquisition finance or related lending.
• Proven track record originating and executing mid-market transactions.
• Strong credit judgement and financial modelling skills.
• Established network across Australian sponsor and advisory community.
• Confident communicator with the ability to present to investment committee.
• Tertiary qualifications in finance, commerce or related discipline; CFA advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Originating new lending opportunities with private equity sponsors, advisers, banks and management teams.
• Structuring financing solutions across acquisitions, refinancing, recapitalisation and growth.
• Leading due diligence, credit analysis and financial modelling; preparing investment committee papers.
• Negotiating term sheets and documentation through to financial close with legal counsel.
• Managing an active portfolio, covenant monitoring and ongoing borrower relationships.
• Mentoring and developing analysts and associates within the team.

Job description

Our client is a well-established private credit platform with a growing presence in the Australian mid-market. With strong capital backing and a reputation for disciplined, solutions-led lending, they are expanding their leveraged finance team and are looking for an experienced professional to take ownership of deals from origination through to close.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will originate, structure and execute senior secured, unitranche and subordinated financings for mid-market corporates and private equity-backed businesses. This is a front-line role with real deal ownership and direct exposure to the firm's investment committee.

Key responsibilities include:

• Originating new lending opportunities through relationships with private equity sponsors, corporate advisers, banks and management teams.
• Structuring financing solutions across acquisition, refinancing, recapitalisation and growth transactions.
• Leading due diligence, credit analysis and financial modelling, and preparing investment committee papers.
• Negotiating term sheets and documentation alongside legal counsel through to financial close.
• Managing an active portfolio, including covenant monitoring, amendments and ongoing borrower relationships.
• Mentoring and developing analysts and associates within the team.

About You

• 6+ years' experience in leveraged finance, private credit, acquisition finance or a related lending function, gained at a bank, credit fund or advisory firm.
• A proven track record of originating and executing mid-market transactions.
• Strong credit judgement, financial modelling and structuring capability.
• An established network across the Australian sponsor and advisory community (essential at Director level).
• Confident communicator who can build trusted relationships and present credibly to investment committee.
• Tertiary qualifications in finance, commerce or a related discipline; CFA or similar is advantageous.
