Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Designer in a university-supportive role. You’ll learn hands-on while pursuing a degree in civil engineering, contributing to infrastructure projects across roads, bridges, water, and renewables.

You’ll work in teams to prepare drawings, perform quantity estimates, and visit sites to inform design. The program includes flexible study options through USQ Australia.

Job Description

This is an existing role that will see you learn hands on while studying a degree in a very supported environment to become a Civil Designer.

You will assist in the engineering design and documentation for exciting and important infrastructure projects in our region. You will get exposure to projects involving roads, bridges, buildings, mining, water infrastructure and renewable energy.

How you’ll make a difference:
  • Help other drafters/designers develop Engineered sketches/ drawings for various Clients using software such as Autodesk and Bentley packages
  • Help undertake quantity calculations for projects to aid cost estimating.
  • Undertake field site visits to aid design deliverables.
  • Be part of multidisciplinary teams delivering project outcomes.
  • Study externally through the University of Southern Queensland Australia (USQ) an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (4 year part time course)
Qualifications
  • The successful applicant will need to meet the enrolment requirements for an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering through the University of Southern Queensland (see - https://www.unisq.edu.au/study/degrees-and-courses/major/civil-engineering-associate-engineering).
