Sandro and Maje at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne, part of the SMCP Group, are seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our luxury retail team. This full-time role supports the Store Manager, drives sales, leads a small team, and upholds premium brand standards in a high-traffic environment.

You will manage daily operations, visual merchandising, staff training, and KPIs while delivering exceptional customer experiences and building lasting client relationships.

The opportunity

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our SANDRO and MAJE stores located at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic retail management team within one of Australia's premier shopping destinations. As Assistant Store Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving store performance, leading our team, and delivering an exceptional shopping experience that reflects the luxury standards of our brands. This position offers significant scope to develop your retail management expertise whilst contributing directly to the success of our store operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the Store Manager in overseeing all aspects of store operations, including sales performance, inventory management, and visual merchandising
• Leading and supervising the sales team to ensure consistent delivery of outstanding customer service and brand standards
• Managing staff scheduling, training, and performance development to build a motivated and skilled team
• Monitoring sales targets and KPIs, implementing strategies to drive revenue growth and customer loyalty
• Maintaining store standards including visual displays, cleanliness, and compliance with brand guidelines
• Processing transactions, managing cash handling, and ensuring accurate point-of-sale procedures
• Assisting with stock management, including receiving, rotation, and product placement across the store
• Building strong customer relationships and handling customer inquiries with professionalism and care
• Communicating effectively with head office and other store locations to ensure brand consistency
• Contributing to loss prevention and security measures to protect store assets

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an Assistant Store Manager or similar retail management role, ideally within a fashion or luxury retail environment
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to inspire and motivate staff
• Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional shopping experiences
• Solid understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, point-of-sale systems, and sales analytics
• Demonstrated ability to drive sales performance and achieve retail targets consistently
• Visual merchandising experience and an eye for creating attractive store displays
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
• Flexibility to work retail hours, including evenings and weekends as required
• High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
• Experience in the luxury or premium retail sector is highly desirable
