Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Australia to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, staff training, opening and closing procedures, and ensuring policy compliance to maintain a safe, welcoming shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Follow corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable; manage bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned
