Job summary

Ampol is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily store operations and coach the retail team in delivering outstanding customer service. The role involves opening/closing procedures, cash handling, inventory management, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will drive performance, execute store strategies, and foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture. Weekend and overnight availability may be required to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to operate POS and handle cash accurately.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and resolving inquiries.
• Support daily store operations including opening/closing procedures and cash handling.
• Monitor inventory and stock levels, assist with ordering and organization.
• Focus on driving profitability while managing costs and waste.
• Implement Ampol brand strategies and maintain a compliant, safe store environment.
• Be available to work weekends and overnights as needed.

About the role:

Our Assistant Store Managers assist in managing day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. They support, coach, and motivate the store team and foster a collaborative work environment.
