Job summary

Gemelli Group in Broadbeach, QLD is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the Restaurant Manager in daily on-site operations, supervise floor service, coordinate reservations, and help deliver a consistent dining experience during peak periods.

You will lead front-of-house teams, assist with hiring and training, uphold high guest-satisfaction standards, maintain cleanliness and presentation, and collaborate with the kitchen to ensure quality across service.

Role Description

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Broadbeach, QLD. This position supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, including supervising floor service, coordinating reservations, and ensuring smooth service during peak periods. The Assistant Restaurant Manager helps lead and motivate front-of-house teams, supports hiring and training, and maintains high standards for guest satisfaction, cleanliness, and presentation. The role also involves monitoring food and beverage quality, responding to guest feedback, assisting with opening and closing procedures, and collaborating with the kitchen team to deliver a consistent dining experience. The successful candidate will model professional behavior, uphold company policies, and contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and customer satisfaction skills, with a focus on creating positive guest experiences.
• Experience in food & beverage operations, including familiarity with menu items, beverage service, and hygiene standards.
• Proven communication skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and management.
• Background in hiring, coaching, and supporting team members in a hospitality or restaurant environment.
• Previous experience as a supervisor or assistant manager in restaurants or bars is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing shifts, service standards, and administrative tasks.
• Knowledge of basic POS systems and cash handling procedures.
• Formal hospitality training or relevant certifications are an advantage but not required.
