Job summary

Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen in Queensland is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the Restaurant Manager with daily operations and guest service during peak periods.

You will lead crew training, drive guest satisfaction, and help manage inventory and finances while fostering a positive, high-energy team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in high-volume hospitality or QSR environments.
• Track record of meeting KPIs and driving team performance.
• Strong communication and people leadership skills.
• Positive attitude, high EI, passion for food and hospitality.
• Able to work rotating rosters including mornings, evenings, weekends.

Job Description

As an Assistant Restaurant Manager at GYG, you will be supporting the Restaurant Manager with day-to-day operations, as well as guiding the team through bustling service periods. You will spearhead crew training, elevate the guest experience, and contribute to the management of inventory and finances.

We value diverse experience, but we’re specifically looking for candidates who have:

• Leadership Experience - Previous leadership experience in a busy, high-volume hospitality or QSR environment.
• Performance Focus: A proven track record of achieving KPIs, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive strong team performance.
• People Skills - Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop a young team.
• Attitude - A positive, can-do attitude, high emotional intelligence and a genuine passion for food and hospitality.
• Availability - Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
