JBS Australia is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Lead to oversee QA and Food Safety at Laverton Processing Plant and Value Added Facility. You will ensure compliance with HACCP, export and certification standards while driving improvement.

Lead QA teams, manage audits, and partner with operations to safeguard product quality, traceability and animal welfare. This is a full-time on-site role with clear career progression within the JBS network.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in quality assurance or food safety within meat/food production.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, export regulations and GFSI schemes.
• Demonstrated leadership of QA teams and audits.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain QA, food safety and regulatory compliance systems across Laverton plants.
• Ensure compliance with customer/export/regulatory/certification requirements including HACCP, SQF and relevant standards.
• Manage quality management systems, SOPs, monitoring programs and site accreditations.
• Oversee product quality, traceability, allergen management, cold chain and process verification.
• Lead internal, customer, regulatory and certification audits and drive corrective actions.

Role Summary

This full-time position is responsible for leading and managing the Quality Assurance and Food Safety systems across JBS Pork Australia's Laverton Processing Plant and Value Added Manufacturing Facility. The role ensures compliance with regulatory, customer, export and certification requirements while supporting business growth, continuous improvement and operational excellence across both manufacturing environments.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain Quality Assurance, Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance systems across the Laverton Processing Plant and Value Added Manufacturing Facility.
• Ensure compliance with customer, export, regulatory and certification requirements including HACCP, SQF, DAFF and relevant industry standards.
• Manage and continuously improve Quality Management Systems, SOPs, work instructions, monitoring programs and site accreditations.
• Oversee product quality, food safety, traceability, animal welfare, allergen management, cold chain integrity and process verification activities across both operations.
• Lead internal, customer, regulatory and certification audits, ensuring timely resolution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance.
• Perform other duties as directed.

• Adhere to WHS obligations and Company WHS policies and procedures.
• Ensure all incidents, hazards, risks, breaches and complaints are actioned in line with Company procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proven experience in quality assurance or food safety within the meat industry.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, export regulations, and GFSI certification schemes.
• Demonstrated leadership of QA teams and audit management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
