Job summary

JBS Pork Australia, Laverton Processing Plant, is seeking a leader to oversee Quality Assurance and Food Safety across Laverton sites. You will ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, export and certification requirements while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The role requires strong QA/food safety experience in the meat sector, proven leadership of QA teams, and a proactive approach to audits and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Proven QA/food safety experience in meat industry.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, export regs and GFSI schemes.
• Demonstrated leadership of QA teams and audits.
• Solid analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA, food safety and regulatory compliance across Laverton sites.
• Ensure compliance with customer/export/regulatory/certification requirements including HACCP, SQF, DAFF and industry standards.
• Manage and improve Quality Management Systems, SOPs, work instructions, monitoring programs and site accreditations.
• Oversee product quality, traceability, allergen management, cold chain and process verification.
• Lead internal, customer, regulatory and certification audits and close corrective actions.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Role Summary

This full-time position is responsible for leading and managing the Quality Assurance and Food Safety systems across JBS Pork Australia's Laverton Processing Plant and Value Added Manufacturing Facility. The role ensures compliance with regulatory, customer, export and certification requirements while supporting business growth, continuous improvement and operational excellence across both manufacturing environments.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain Quality Assurance, Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance systems across the Laverton Processing Plant and Value Added Manufacturing Facility.
• Ensure compliance with customer, export, regulatory and certification requirements including HACCP, SQF, DAFF and relevant industry standards.
• Manage and continuously improve Quality Management Systems, SOPs, work instructions, monitoring programs and site accreditations.
• Oversee product quality, food safety, traceability, animal welfare, allergen management, cold chain integrity and process verification activities across both operations.
• Lead internal, customer, regulatory and certification audits, ensuring timely resolution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance.
• Perform other duties as directed.

• Adhere to WHS obligations and Company WHS policies and procedures.
• Ensure all incidents, hazards, risks, breaches and complaints are actioned in line with Company procedures.
• Ensure all personnel under your leadership (if applicable) are aware of their roles and responsibilities in accordance with the Company WHS Management System.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proven experience in quality assurance or food safety within the meat industry.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, export regulations, and GFSI certification schemes.
• Demonstrated leadership of QA teams and audit management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
