Job summary

Sunshine Special Developmental School (SDS) in Melbourne’s western suburbs is seeking an Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning. This role leads educational programs aligned to the Victorian Curriculum, supports SWPBS initiatives, and works with a diverse school community.

The successful candidate will drive learning outcomes, lead staff development, and oversee student wellbeing and engagement within a P-12 context. This is a leadership position within a vibrant, inclusive school.

Qualifications

• Outstanding capacity for visionary and exemplary educational leadership of a school.
• Highly developed financial, organisational and resource management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to implement Department policies to a high level.
• A highly developed capacity to motivate staff and build an effective team.
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills in individual, small group and community contexts.
• A demonstrated capacity to lead the implementation and monitoring of SWPBS and Behaviour Coach Team.

Responsibilities

• Supervision and coordination of the work of senior curriculum or level coordinators.
• Allocation of budgets, positions of responsibility and other resources within the area of responsibility.
• Supervision of the delivery of teaching programs.
• Management of programs to improve the knowledge and experience of staff.
• Responsibility for general discipline matters beyond the management of classroom teachers and year level coordinators.
• Contribute to the overall management of the school.
