Job summary

NSW Department of Education Wollondilly Public School seeks a skilled educator to lead the Special Education division within a mainstream public school. You will drive capacity-building, inclusive teaching, and evidence-based practices to support student growth.

You will collaborate with staff, parents and the community, design quality programs, and manage resources to ensure equitable outcomes. An unconditional teaching approval and WWCC clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.

Job description

Wollondilly Public School is an innovative, dynamic and inclusive primary school located within the township of Goulburn in the Southern Tablelands. At present, school enrolments consist of both mainstream classes and 3 support classes - Mild Intellectual Disability (IM), Multi-Categorical (MC) and an Early Intervention Unit (EIU), with an overall enrolment of 415 students. Approximately 5% of students are from a language background other than English and 8% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Students come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. The school has a Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) of 105. At Wollondilly, we are committed to providing rich programs to develop skills in technology, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration to enable students to reach their full potential. Through our PBL values (Safe, Respectful and Responsible), we are empowering students to take responsibility for their learning and behaviour. The school is developing a culture of evidence based, data informed decision making and aims to build the capacity of all teachers to lead, improve learning and innovate. Wollondilly is active in the performing arts and sporting areas and provides opportunities for student participation in pursuits beyond the classroom including sports, dance, recorder, band and choir. Wollondilly Public School enjoys strong community support and has a very supportive Parents and Citizens' Association (P&C).
