ForHealth Group’s Maroubra Medical Centre is seeking an Assistant Practice Manager for a fixed full-time 6-month contract. You will support the Practice Manager, lead the reception team, and ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Ideal candidates bring prior leadership and strong customer service skills, with excellent communication and the ability to thrive in a busy healthcare setting. Proficiency with Pracsoft or Best Practice is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in healthcare or guest-facing roles.
• Strong customer service with a patient-focused approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Familiarity with practice-management software (Pracsoft/Best Practice) preferred.
• Proactive attitude and ownership.
• Professional presentation and a positive, can-do approach.

Responsibilities

• Support the Practice Manager with daily operations of the medical centre.
• Assist in leading, mentoring, and supporting the reception team.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and visitors.
• Manage patient bookings, inquiries, and front desk activities.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Complete administrative tasks as required.
• Build positive relationships with patients, practitioners and colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and accreditation.
