Job summary

GO.FARM seeks an Assistant Orchard Manager to support day-to-day operations at Bembaala Orchard. You will work with the Orchard Manager to deliver safe, efficient and high-performing activities on the ground.

You will coordinate tasks, monitor crop performance, manage resources and identify opportunities to improve. A hands-on, collaborative approach with a focus on safety and results is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of orchard operations including land prep, irrigation, nutrition, pests and weeds.
• Coordinate and supervise daily activities of orchard employees and contractors.
• Monitor and maintain orchard infrastructure, machinery, irrigation systems and equipment.
• Assist with budget management, reporting and operational planning.
• Promote a safe, productive and positive team culture.
• Work with the Orchard Manager to meet production, quality and financial targets.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.
• Represent GO.FARM professionally with contractors, suppliers and stakeholders.

About the role:

As Assistant Orchard Manager, you'll work closely with the Orchard Manager to support the day-to-day management of Bembaala Orchard, helping deliver safe, efficient and high-performing operations.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days will be the same. You'll be involved in everything from coordinating orchard activities and leading teams to monitoring crop performance, managing resources and identifying opportunities to do things better.

We're looking for someone who enjoys being out on the orchard, working alongside their team and taking ownership of getting things done.

In this role, you will:

• Support the planning and execution of orchard operations, including land preparation, irrigation, nutrition, pest and weed management.
• Coordinate and supervise daily activities of orchard employees and contractors.
• Monitor and maintain orchard infrastructure, machinery, irrigation systems, and equipment.
• Assist with budget management, reporting, and operational planning.
• Promote a safe, productive, and positive team culture.
• Work closely with the Orchard Manager to achieve production, quality, and financial targets.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.
• Represent GO.FARM professionally with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

• Experience in horticulture, agriculture, or orchard operations.
• Previous experience leading or supervising people.
• A current driver's licence.
• Chemical accreditation (or willingness to obtain it).

• A commitment to safety, quality, and high standards.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a small, dynamic team environment.

• Base salary between $90,000 - $110,000 per annum
• Short Term Incentive (STI) of up to 10% of your salary
• Company provided house
