Job summary

ALH Hotels’ Western Hotel in Port Augusta is seeking an Assistant Manager to keep the venue buzzing with locals. The role combines hands-on leadership with guest service, coordinating front-of-house teams and supporting the Publican.

You’ll lead a team, manage daily operations, ensure safety, and help drive a warm, value-for-money experience. A current RSA/RSG/RP badge is required, and you’ll enjoy group-wide discounts, wellbeing support, and the security of a solid base salary.

Qualifications

• This hands-on role requires physical tasks such as moving stock and deliveries.
• Must hold a current RSA, RSG and RP Badge as per state requirements.
• You’ve worked in bar, bistro, or gaming rooms and have supervised teams.

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Western Hotel buzzing and loved by the locals. Paying homage to the former owner’s father who’s well-known in the community, Ian’s Western Hotel has undergone recent renovations and renaming to now be known simply as Western Hotel. We are a warm and welcoming venue with a relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and great value for money. The Hotel is looking great with comfortable and modern decor, a new menu and the biggest bottle shop in Port Augusta. Whether it's after work drinks, a punt on the TAB or catching up with friends over a pub meal, we have something for everyone.

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About You

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA, RSG and RP Badge as per state requirements
