Job summary

ALH Hotels’ Vale Hotel is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead daily pub operations and deliver outstanding guest experiences. You’ll work closely with the Publican to ensure smooth service, safety, and a welcoming atmosphere for locals.

You should be comfortable supervising a team, maintaining high service standards, and resolving issues on shift. A current RSA, RCG and Gaming Licence are required by state regulations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on hospitality leadership experience preferred.
• RSA/RCG & Gaming Licence as per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Know the locals and build strong relationships as the face of the pub.
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe.
• Lead a team of hospitality staff and supervise daily operations.
• Handle hiccups before they become headaches and resolve issues on shift.
• Bring energy, excellent service and smiles to every shift.

About The Role

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Vale Hotel buzzing and loved by the locals.

A Day In The Life Of An Assistant Manager

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About You

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA, RCG & Gaming Licence as per state requirements
