Job summary

Endeavour Group is seeking an Assistant Manager for Summer Hill Hotel, a busy pub known for its welcoming vibe and strong local ties. You’ll support the Publican to run the venue smoothly, safely, and with energy, leading a team of hospitality professionals and acting as the pub’s face when the boss is away.

The role requires hands‑on work, prior supervision experience, and current RSA/RCG as per state requirements. Enjoy group discounts and a friendly, community‑minded work environment.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on role requiring physical tasks (manual handling, lifting, stock, kegs, deliveries)
• Experience supervising or leading a team in a bar/pub setting
• Ability to be the face of the pub when the manager is away (confident and personable)

Responsibilities

• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Lead a team of hospo staff and oversee daily operations across bar and bistro
• Assist with shift supervision, training, and resolving hiccups before they become issues
• Foster a welcoming, energetic atmosphere and exceptional guest service

About the Role

Assistant Manager | Summer Hill Hotel

Base Salary $80,000 + Super + Bonus Scheme + Group Wide Discounts

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Summer Hill Hotelbuzzing and loved by the locals.

Located right next to the train station, the Summer Hill Hotel has been the heart of the local community since 1967. We’re a fun, trendy, and welcoming pub offering a highly inclusive menu, live sports, and great event spaces. Join our team and help us continue to be everything a true local should be.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA and RCG as per state requirements
