Job summary

ALH Hotels is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Fairfield Area to help run a busy pub with strong ties to the local community. The base salary is $80,000 plus super, a bonus scheme and group-wide discounts.

The role involves hands-on leadership, staff supervision, and ensuring a safe, energetic, and welcoming atmosphere across shifts. Ideal candidates will have hospitality experience, strong people skills, and the ability to manage daily operations while maintaining excellent service

Qualifications

• Experience supervising in bar, bistro or gaming room.
• Ability to lead a team and create a great vibe.
• Current RSA, RCG and ARCG as per state requirements.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks (manual handling) as part of regular duties.

Responsibilities

• Get to know the locals and build rapport as part of the crew.
• Support the Publican to run the pub smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe.
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of hospo staff.
• Handle hiccups before they become headaches.
• Bring energy, service, and smiles on every shift.

A Day In The Life Of An Assistant Manager

• Get to know the locals so well they think you're part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About You

• You've been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You've learned from great managers and now you're ready to step up
• You've got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You've got a current RSA, RCG and ARCG as per state requirements
