Job summary

Summer Hill Hotel is seeking an Assistant Manager to keep the pub buzzing and loved by locals. Base Salary $80,000 + Super + Bonus Scheme + Group Wide Discounts, with opportunities to grow within ALH Hotels and Endeavour Group.

You’ll support the Publican, lead a team, ensure smooth, safe operations, and deliver a great guest experience on every shift. RSA and RCG certifications are required, and physical duties are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role requiring physical tasks (manual handling, lifting, moving stock, kegs, deliveries).
• RSA and RCG certifications as per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe.
• Lead a team of hospitality staff and welcome locals as the face of the pub when the boss is away.
• Handle hiccups quickly to prevent issues and maintain the guest experience.

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Summer Hill Hotel buzzing and loved by the locals.

Located right next to the train station, the Summer Hill Hotel has been the heart of the local community since 1967. We’re a fun, trendy, and welcoming pub offering a highly inclusive menu, live sports, and great event spaces. Join our team and help us continue to be everything a true local should be.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA and RCG as per state requirements
