Job summary

The Royal Hotel Gatton is looking for a driven Assistant Manager to lead a busy, multi-department venue in the Lockyer Valley. This hands-on role involves managing a team, maintaining gold-standard presentation, and building relationships with local regulars while delivering warm country hospitality on every shift.

RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence are required. You’ll be part of the Endeavour Group network, growing your career within ALH Hotels and associated brands.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role with potential manual handling and lifting.

The Royal Hotel Gatton is looking for a driven, customer-focused Assistant Manager who loves classic regional pub culture, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and knows how to keep a multi-department venue firing on all cylinders!

"The Royal" is a buzzing local powerhouse . Whether you're steering a busy lunch or dinner rush in the bistro, orchestrating a high-tempo weekend trade in the sports bar, or managing operations across our gaming floor and hotel rooms, this role demands a leader with sharp operational instincts who loves being right in the heart of the action. We need someone who can maintain gold-standard presentation, build strong relationships with local regulars, and deliver warm, authentic country hospitality on every shift.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you're part of the crew


• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe


• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends


• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches


• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You've been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising


• You've learned from great managers and now you're ready to step up


• You've got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away


• You've got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
