Endeavour Group is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Highfields Tavern to take charge of daily floor operations in a vibrant pub setting. You will engage with locals, supervise staff, and uphold lively, safe service across bistro, sports bar, and gaming room areas.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, excellent customer service, and the ability to resolve issues quickly while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for our regulars and guests.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role requiring physical tasks and lifting.
• RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per Queensland state requirements.

About the Role

Assistant Manager | Highfields Tavern

Are you a hospitality professional ready to run the floor at one of the most vibrant suburban taverns in the Toowoomba region? The Highfields Tavern is looking for a driven, floor-focused Assistant Manager who loves classic pub culture, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and knows how to keep a crew firing on all cylinders.

"The Highfields" is a buzzing local centerpiece. Whether it's managing a packed family dinner rush in the bistro, running a high-tempo sports bar during major live games, or overseeing our top-tier gaming room operations, this venue requires a leader who loves being right at the heart of the action. We need someone with sharp operational instincts who can maintain elite standards and ensure our tight-knit community of regulars receives gold-class hospitality on every shift.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licenceas per state requirements
