Job summary

ALH Hotels in Salisbury invites an Assistant Manager to join Eureka Hotel, a vibrant community pub. The role focuses on hands-on leadership, ensuring smooth, safe operations and a welcoming guest experience while mentoring a team of capable staff.

Eligible candidates will have RSA/RSG/RP badges, hospitality know-how, and strong people skills to represent the pub when leadership isn’t present. Base salary is competitive, with super, bonus schemes, and staff discounts.

• Hands-on role with manual handling and lifting; safety-focused physical tasks.
• Experience around bar, bistro, or gaming room and some supervising.
• Leadership potential and people skills to be the face of the pub.
• Current RSA, RSG and RP Badge per state requirements.

A Day In The Life Of An Assistant Manager

• Get to know the locals so well they think you're part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About You

• You've been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You've learned from great managers and now you're ready to step up
• You've got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You've got a current RSA, RSG and RP Badge as per state requirements
