ALH Hotels is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Eltham Hotel in Melbourne’s North-East. The role focuses on keeping the Eltham Hotel buzzing and loved by locals, blending heritage charm with modern hospitality.

You will lead a team, support the Publican, ensure smooth operations, and deliver energetic and friendly service across shifts. A hands-on leader with strong people skills is ideal.

Established in 1887, The Eltham Hotel is a heritage-rich local institution in Melbourne’s North-East. Seamlessly blending historic charm with modern hospitality, the venue features a high-volume Family Bistro, a relaxed public bar, and dedicated private function spaces for corporate and social events. Centrally located near Greensborough and Westfield Doncaster, it remains the region's premier gathering place.

A Day In The Life Of An Assistant Manager

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About You

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA and RSG as per state requirements
