Job summary

The Star Sydney is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a dynamic team and deliver outstanding daily venue operations. You will report to the Venue Manager and help drive guest service excellence across all areas of the site, including food and beverage operations, while upholding safety and compliance standards.

You will contribute to financial and operational targets, develop staff, and continue to elevate guest experiences at a premier entertainment hub in Sydney.

Qualifications

• Management experience in a large, busy hospitality environment.
• Excellent guest service skills with a proactive attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Venue Manager to lead and support achievement of financial and operational targets.
• Oversee rostering, SOPs, training and performance management.
• Assist development, implementation and evaluation of service standards and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with the Responsible Service of Alcohol program and Liquor Act provisions.
• Assist in recruiting, training and developing employees to support timely recruitment and career growth.

As an Assistant Manager, you will be reporting directly to the Venue where you will lead a team in delivering the daily operations of the venue.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will have the opportunity to create a unique experience for our guests, take good care, and lead a dynamic team with integrity.

A few of your responsibilities:

• Assist Venue Manager to lead and support achievement of financial and operational targets
• Oversee operational functions that include rostering requirements, standard operating procedures, training and performance management
• Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of service standards and standard operating procedures
• Ensure that all areas of the business comply with the Responsible Service of Alcohol program and relevant provisions of the Liquor Act
• Assist in managing the selection, training and development of all employees to ensure timely recruitment and career growth

What we are looking for:

• Management experience within in a similar large busy environment, with a thorough knowledge of food and beverages
• Demonstrated ability in planning and resourcing people and products, performance management and controlling labour costs and operating expenses
• Exceptional guest service skills with a proactive attitude and natural ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of guests
• Current RSA Statement of Attainment
• Flexible with availability for work over a 7-day roster
