Qualifications

About the Business:
Vawdrey Spray n Write is based in Dandenong South and specialises in painting truck curtains using traditional masking, painting and baking techniques. Our commitment to quality workmanship and quick turnaround times has built a loyal client base who rely on us to deliver on time.

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Assistant Manager / 2IC – CCV Operator to join our team. This is a hands‑on role combining the coordination of day‑to‑day business operations with the technical work involved in preparing and cutting vinyl designs for our truck curtain painting process.

Working closely with management and our team of six signwriters, you’ll help keep production running smoothly, coordinate workloads and resources, and operate vinyl cutting equipment to produce accurate lettering, logos and layouts in line with supplied artwork and corporate branding guidelines.

You’ll also work closely with our partnered company and their employees, coordinating artwork requirements and communication to ensure the artwork process runs smoothly and jobs progress efficiently through to production.

We’re looking for someone who can take initiative, support the team, manage competing priorities and maintain a high standard of work across both operational and production duties.

Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Oversee daily operations and support management as 2IC.

Coordinate team workloads, production schedules and deadlines.

Operate vinyl cutting machines and use FlexiSIGN or similar software to prepare designs.

Ensure artwork and vinyl layouts meet supplied specifications and branding guidelines.

Liaise with our partner company and their employees to coordinate artwork requirements and maintain a smooth workflow.

Monitor stock levels and coordinate materials, equipment and resources.

Support staff training, onboarding and day‑to‑day problem‑solving.

Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency and production outcomes.

Maintain a safe, organised and productive work environment.
