Job summary

Discovery Parks – Townsville is seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager to support daily operations, lead the onsite team of about 20, and ensure exceptional guest experiences. The role includes after-hours/on-call duties approximately 4–5 nights per week, with onsite accommodation provided and opportunities across the park’s activities and services.

Qualifications

• Driver License is essential.
• Current or ability to obtain Working with Children Check.
• Experience in tourism, accommodation, hospitality or similar.

• Willingness to participate in after-hours/on-call roster.

Discovery Parks – Townsville

Live and work in tropical North Queensland, where you can enjoy everything Townsville has to offer, from The Strand and fishing to mountain walks and a great local nightlife.

This is a busy, year-round property catering to a mix of approximately 70% workstay and 30% tourist guests, with around 90 rooms including motel accommodation, powered and ensuite sites, and guest facilities including a swimming pool and water park.

Even better, onsite accommodation is provided, with a large, fully furnished three-bedroom apartment above the office, including a washer, dryer and dishwasher. Pets are also permitted.

The Role

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on and supportive Assistant Manager who loves the industry and enjoys being involved across all areas of a busy operation.

Working closely with the Park Manager, you'll help support the day-to-day running of the property and a team of approximately 20 people, getting involved wherever required to ensure operations run smoothly and guests have a great experience.

This is a varied role suited to a flexible all-rounder who is comfortable working across both tourist and workstay operations. The role includes after-hours/on-call responsibilities approximately 4–5 nights per week.

To be successful you will ideally have:
