Job summary

Pegasus Leisure Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to lead teams across South East Melbourne venues. You will work closely with the Venue Manager to support operations, compliance, gaming, customer service and overall performance.

You’ll drive team coaching, rostering and training, while maintaining high service standards and presenting venues professionally. This is a hands‑on leadership role in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hospitality leadership or management role.
• Strong understanding of venue operations and customer service.
• Hands-on, positive, team-focused leadership style.
• Ability to work across rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day venue operations.
• Assist in driving venue performance and financial targets.
• Lead, coach and support venue team members.
• Manage stock control and ordering processes.
• Support rostering, recruitment, onboarding and training.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and venue presentation.

We’re looking for experienced and motivated Assistant Manager's to join our teams across our South East Melbourne venues.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hospitality leader who enjoys being hands‑on, thrives in fast-paced venues, and is passionate about delivering great customer experiences while supporting and developing a high‑performing team.

Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day operations of the venue, supporting team leadership, compliance, gaming operations, customer service and overall venue performance.

About PLG

Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG) is the hospitality arm of the Melbourne Racing Club, managing a growing network of 17 pubs, clubs and hospitality venues across Victoria. Our venues include bistros, sports bars, function spaces and gaming areas, each focused on delivering great hospitality experiences within their local communities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the venue
