Job summary

Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Coordinator to support the maintenance and reliability of our marine support craft fleet. You will report to the Maintenance Coordinator and help keep vessels safe, compliant and ready for operation through effective maintenance planning, fault finding, contractor management and technical support.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in a mechanical discipline such as Fitter & Turner, Diesel Fitter, Marine Engineer or similar.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining, repairing or coordinating maintenance for marine, industrial, heavy equipment or fleet assets.
• Finely tuned fault finding, troubleshooting and practical problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vessel crews, contractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating and delivering planned and corrective maintenance across the support craft fleet.
• Troubleshoot vessel defects and provide technical advice to vessel crews, workshop personnel and contractors.
• Coordinate maintenance activities, repairs and refits to minimise operational disruption.
• Monitor and manage work orders within the CMMS, ensuring accurate records and timely completion of maintenance activities.
• Analyse vessel reliability trends and contribute to asset improvement and lifecycle planning initiatives.

Technically capable, hands-on and great at solving problems: here's who we're looking for.

• Ability to prioritise competing maintenance requirementswhile maintaining safety, compliance and operationalperformance.
• Experienced or ability to learn maintenance managementsystems (CMMS) and procurement processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vessel crews,contractors and internal teams.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, blasting and paintingactivities will be advantageous.
