Job summary

Ageing Australia is seeking an Assistant in Nursing to support rural communities by assisting residents with daily activities and essential care. You will help with showering, dressing, eating, mobility and medication management while maintaining accurate electronic records.

You will work with RNs, EENs and other care staff in a multidisciplinary team, in a caring, inclusive environment with opportunities to develop your skills in a rural setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to assist patients with daily living activities.

Responsibilities

Job Description

As an Assistant in Nursing you will be integral to us achieving our goal of healthier rural people and thriving communities.

You'll have strong communication, empathy and customer service skills while you assist patients with their daily routines, such as showering, toileting, dressing, eating, communication, mobility, medication and exercise. You'll keenly observe those in your care, keep accurate electronic patient records and assist in the planning of daily routines and ongoing care.

Coonamble MPS is 160 Km from the large regional centre of Dubbo. Coonamble and district offer many opportunities. Great food and coffee spots, walking tracks, yoga, netball or football and many other diverse activities. You may even want to get involved in the local theatre play which is running this year. Great schools and family activities. Coonamble is a rural town with 5 acute beds, emergency department, dialysis, 18 residential aged care beds, ambulatory care and a range of community primary health services.

Shifts vary from AM shift (0700-1530hrs), PM shift (1330-2200hrs) Day shift - (1100-1930hrs) Night shift rare occasion (2300-0730).

The successful applicant will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including RNs, EENs and AINs, Allied health assistant, support services staff.
