Job summary

W Sydney invites applications for an Assistant Financial Controller (12 Month Maternity Cover) to lead the hotel Finance Team under the Financial Controller. You will ensure financial integrity, timely reporting, month-end close, and support budgeting and audits.

By reporting to FC, you will mentor staff, drive cost control, collaborate with department heads, and contribute to the hotel’s financial targets while upholding Marriott information security and policy standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Hospitality.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in hotel finance/accounting.
• Strong written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
• Experience with Opera/POS or PeopleSoft is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining operational finance integrity and timely reporting.
• Lead month-end processes and financial reconciliations.
• Drive cost control initiatives and support budgeting.
• Conduct internal and external audits.
• Mentor finance staff and interns.
• Collaborate with department heads to meet financial targets.
• Support DOF and FC to streamline accounting functions and provide financial analysis.
• Comply with Marriott Information Protection Policy and hotel regulations.
