Job summary

W Sydney is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller (12 Month Maternity Cover) to help lead the hotel Finance Team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role provides financial management and team leadership to the business and presents an amazing opportunity to contribute to the hotel’s success.

The Assistant Financial Controller's day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining the operational finance integrity through timely reporting, reconciliations, monthly journals and balance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Hospitality.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in hotel finance/accounting.
• Strong written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
• Experience with Opera/POS or PeopleSoft is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains operational finance integrity through timely reporting and balance sheet accuracy.
• Leads month-end processes and financial reconciliations.
• Drives cost control initiatives and supports budgeting.
• Conducts internal and external audits.
• Mentors finance staff and interns.
• Collaborates with department heads to meet financial targets.
• Assists DOF and FC to streamline accounting functions and operations and provide financial analysis.
• Supports information protection policy and adheres to hotel and legal requirements.
